Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Reasons for undergoing a Blepharoplasty

Eyelid skin can become excessive with advancing years. On occasions it can obscure the normal creases of the upper eyelid and form unnatural folds. These alter the appearance of the upper lid significantly giving it an aged appearance and can also feel heavy.

Surgery

Excision of excess tissue and adjustment of deeper fat pockets.

Anaesthetic

Upper lids; local or general anaesthetic - day case

Back to work

Usually within two weeks

Scars

Aligned in natural creases.

May remain obvious for a number of weeks

Gradually fade and become barely perceptible.
