Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Reasons for undergoing a Blepharoplasty
Eyelid skin can become excessive with advancing years. On occasions it can obscure the normal creases of the upper eyelid and form unnatural folds. These alter the appearance of the upper lid significantly giving it an aged appearance and can also feel heavy.
Surgery
Excision of excess tissue and adjustment of deeper fat pockets.
Anaesthetic
Upper lids; local or general anaesthetic - day case
Back to work
Usually within two weeks
Scars
Aligned in natural creases.
May remain obvious for a number of weeks
Gradually fade and become barely perceptible.
